Moving Right Along

Moving right along, and learning as I go. My February classes are behind me. I branched out this month and added a class at a local wine bar. The classes are not catching on as much as I would like, but I’ve only had three so far, I’m hoping as time goes by, word will spread and there will be more interest. Crocheting and drinking coffee or wine and catching up with old friends or meeting new friends seems like the perfect way to spend a couple of hours to me, I just need to convince the rest of the world, or at least a few locals. 😊

My coffee class this month was a repeat customer. We had a lovely time making hearts, drinking coffee and getting to know each other better. Who could ask for more? To me, that was a successful class. All this teacher needs is one student. Honestly, it’s not all about the teaching, it’s about being creative, connecting with others, doing something enjoyable and productive and being a part of the community.

The wine class got off to a bit of a bumpy start. The wine bar was closed when my class was supposed to start. So we waited around awhile and when it looked like no one was going to show up to let us in, we decided to move our class down the street to a local restaurant. Problem solved. The lesson learned is to be flexible, problems will always arise, the key is to just go with the flow. It’s just crochet, not brain surgery. We drank some wine, crocheted some hearts, talked, laughed and got to know each other. My purpose for starting this mobile crochet class business is to bring together craft, creativity and community. So far, it looks like I’m on the right track.

I’m looking forward to next month’s classes. We’ll be making an Easter themed project and I’m adding a class for kids over spring break. I can’t wait to get to started! If you’d like to join us, go to the Events page to check the calendar for the schedule of classes and register to confirm your seat then head on over to the Payment page to pay in advance with a credit card or PayPal account.
